This Christmas tree in Ehime Prefecture is decorated with unusual stuff. It has mikan (small oranges) hanging all over the branches.
This is what a prefecture of mikan can do.
This tree stands in a big street in Matstuyama, the capital city Ehime prefecture. It seems surprisingly normal and pretty.
What surprised me is the fact that these mikan ornaments are made of mikan skin.
Ehime is famous for its mikan. Ehime is the prefecture with most mikan in the country. Not only the large number, the good taste of Ehime mikan is also one that makes this prefecture special. If you travel around Japan this Christmas, perhaps other prefectures are decorating their Christmas trees with their specialties too.
